Creative Mind: Driving the Future

Russian creativity is unique.

Through the ages, and across science and technology, literature, fine art and design, industry and commerce, Russia has produced innovators, entrepreneurs and creative thinkers that have changed the way we view the world. From the artistic and scientific genius of Pushkin and Mendeleev, through the groundbreakers of the Russian avant-garde, to the tech visionaries and programmers who are designing our future — the Russian creative mind continues to inspire around the globe.

Throughout the six months of Expo 2020, the Russia Pavilion will demonstrate and showcase the best of the Russia creative industries, leading visitors on a journey through Russia’s regions across the length and breadth of the world’s largest country. The Russian Pavilion will celebrate creativity in all its guises, will tell the stories of Russian ingenuity through the ages and will show how it is the creative mind that will not only drive the future, but will shape it for the benefit of humanity.

2021 was declared the International Year of Creative Economy!

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution to declare 2021 the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development. According to the resolution, the international community should support developing countries in their effort to increase their presence in creative economy and to encourage development of creative industries. Moreover, the resolution recognizes the important role of the creative economy in boosting employment and actively supporting the start-up culture, small and medium-sized enterprises and also in fighting hunger and poverty.
